Annie Lucas
A self-taught artist who lives in Prattville, Annie Lucas focuses on works with a Biblical theme. In Jesus Standing in the Midst of Seven Candlesticks, she combines acrylic paint and thread to create a highly tactile surface. With this, Lucas recalls the techniques of her African-American foremothers in Alabama who were skilled quilters.
