Changing The Way We Farm

A generation from now, the world's population is predicted to grow from the current 7.5 billion people to nearly 10 billion people, a number that has raised worries about how to feed us all. The United Nations estimates food demand will increase 70 percent by 2050, even as the amount of water and farmable land shrinks due to global warming. As climate change leads to more severe droughts and disruptive storms, cutting-edge farmers and agricultural scientists in the U.S. and abroad are pioneering and expanding weather-resistant methods of growing food: farming indoors. NewsHour Weekend's Ivette Feliciano reports.
