Episode #633

(MARCH 11, 2014) CAPITOL JOURNAL reports on Senate action today taking up "Carly’s Law," which would allow the use of a marijuana-derived drug to treat seizure disorders. Lawmakers announced today that UAB would conduct research on the drug. We’ll also report on today’s public hearing on a new bill that, instead of repealing Common Core, would put a moratorium on it. A House committee today approved a substitute ‘revolving door’ bill to ban lawmakers from lobbying for two years after leaving office. And we’re joined by Representative Donnie Chesteen of Geneva, who discusses his bill to allow boards of education the flexibility of setting their own school calendars.
