Episode #622

(FEB. 19, 2014) CAPITOL JOURNAL reports on House committee action on the General Fund budget. It would increase Medicaid funding by 70-million dollars and lawmakers say they’re looking for more money for the beleaguered prison system. The House Health Committee took up four abortion-related bills. One would make it illegal for a doctor to perform the procedure if a heartbeat is detected. And we’re joined by Representative Wayne Johnson of Ryland, who discusses House passage of his Alabama Taxpayer Audit Protection Act, which would protect people from being singled out because of their political affiliations.
