Themes in U.s. History

This episode of GED Connection is called Themes in U.S. History." In it, some of the themes that are at the core of american history are di scussed: the coming together of many cultures, the idea of personal ri ghts and freedom, and the changing nature of everyday life. On the GED test there will be questions relating to a variety of periods in amer ican history. It is helpful to get as familiar as possible with them b y reading, visiting museums and historic sites, watching movies about historical events, watching the nes, and talking to friends and family about the issues they lived through. Topics discussed in this program include: early America and settlement, the Louisiana Purchase, slaver y, the civil war, the labor movement, immigrants, World War II, the Ci vil Rights movement, and women in the workplace."
