Every summer Vicki Holt leads workshops for elementary teachers to verse them in the innovative writing techniques she uses in her kindergarten/first grade classroom. In this program, she demonstrates these teaching techniques to her students, and discuss them with teaching partner, Vonda Gordon.

In this program, Rick Shelton, author of the children's book Hoggle's Christmas, shows fourth and fifth grade students at West Jasper Elementary School in Alabama, how to move beyond "first grade" writing to become imaginative, persuasive, and informative writers.
