The Alabama Department of Human Resources is no longer operating under a federal consent decree. The consent decree had been in effect for 19 years. It was the result of a suit involving a child known by the initials R.C. The Commissioner for the Alabama Department of Human Resources, Page Walley, Ph.D. will discuss the impact of the case on “Face To Face.” Walley says he does not know if child in the R.C. case knows the important role the suit is playing in improving child welfare in Alabama. Walley will also discuss the department’s effort to find permanent homes for children in the system. He even reveals how he knows the challenges facing the children needing a family and a place to call home.
