The Federal Bureau of Investigation released preliminary crime statistics for 2005. The report shows violent crime rose 2.5% while property crime dropped 1.6%. Randy Hillman of the District Attorneys Association of Alabama and Chris Murphy the Special Agent in charge of the Birmingham District Office of the U.S. Secret Service will discuss the statistics and efforts to combat crime.
