Praised as one the top news programs in the country, “For the Record” is Alabama’s only statewide news broadcast. For more than 25 years, the program has featured major public officials, business leaders and other public figures discussing the major issues facing Alabama. Governors, U.S. Senators and Congressmen, state lawmakers, ambassadors and Alabama constitutional officers have been among the guests on the program. For the Record has journeyed the state to cover major events and featured a wide diversity of Alabamians to show how a problem affects the average citizen.
“For the Record” has won numerous awards, among them Troy University Hector Awards, Douglas Canon Medical Awards, Sigma Delta Chi Journalism Awards, an American Bar Association Silver Gavel and Society for Professional Journalists awards.
Hosted by long-time anchor Tim Lennox, the 60-minute program format features three media representatives discussing the past week’s events and one guest.
