Title: Web/Digital Content Producer

Description: Alabama Public Television (APT) is seeking an experienced online producer to lead the content development, production, content organization/structure and ongoing maintenance for its Education website. The ideal candidate will have the requisite creative and technical skills to build upon APT’s existing presence on the Internet through the development and maintenance of ongoing content initiatives including the production and distribution of ongoing branded content, the creation of interactive and multimedia features, design improvements, and maintenance of back-end systems. The candidate will:

• Have 2-3 years previous design and editorial experience and be able to manage the creation of digital content from concept through to delivery.

• Have experience with web storytelling, graphic design and motion graphics.

• Maintain a consistent design look and feel across all education web properties.

• Work closely with an executive producer to meet a broadcast or webcast show's online needs. Develop and execute content to support evolving editorial calendars.

• Create copy and edit site, ensuring quality of all content meets the highest standards.

• Have exceptional communication, design and technical skills.

• Be familiar with popular content management systems and be able to effectively organize and format web content for easy access by teachers and students.

• Be familiar with publishing technologies such as CSS and HTML to effectively communicate with web designers.

• Be able to perform tasks that require careful attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines.

Schedule: Full Time
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in communications, digital media, journalism, media arts, or a related field required. Must demonstrate proficiency in web design by providing working Web samples and print pages. Must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Basic HTML; CSS, Flash and other relevant technology skills preferred. Working knowledge of social network platforms, their associated metrics platforms and Google Analytics preferred; digital motion graphics, video editing and production preferred. Previous experience in an educational setting and/or in the production of educational content preferred.
