Description: Alabama Public Television (APT) is seeking an intermediate level multimedia designer/producer to join our diverse, team-oriented agency. This position is responsible for designing and building animated objects, online video tutorials, flash movies and HTML5 interactive simulations to support curricular, promotional and academic needs. Requires the knowledge and skills to develop and produce using interactive courseware. Requires the ability to create web-based illustrations, animations and simulations that improve a learner’s understanding of course material.
Schedule: Full Time
This individual will act as the bridge between creativity and technology and play an essential role, often guiding the development of ideas in the pre-design phase. The individual typically works on multiple projects concurrently and will be involved in all phases of creative development. You will also assist, mentor, and train other employees in the processes and procedures of developmental tasks as necessary. The successful candidate:

• Must have experience using the Adobe Creative Suite of products, specifically Flash, Dreamweaver, and Captivate, or other popular software, to develop multimedia projects.

• Will have familiarity with all aspects of video production, including pre-production, planning, logistics, shooting, video production and editing, and online posting of final multimedia assets.

• Will have creative storytelling capabilities and strong editing and technical skills.

• Will have previous experience in the design, development, and programing of interactive video-based multimedia.

• Will have graphic design experience (digital/interactive/web).

• Will be experienced in audio and video editing using Final Cut Pro.

• Will work with existing design parameters and branding standards to develop new graphic elements.

• Must have a strong technical aptitude to quickly learn new software and hardware.

Bachelor’s degree in multi-media arts, digital media, communications, advertising or a related field is required. Portfolio must show proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other relevant technology skills. Previous experience in an educational setting and/or in the production of educational content preferred.
