Alabama Arise
Kimble Forrister is the State Coordinator for Alabama Arise. Alabama Arise is a made of community groups, civic clubs, religious organizations, and local foundations working together to help improve the lives of low income people and families. Forrister will discuss legislative items the group would like to see the Alabama Legislature address. He also will outline programs and initiatives aimed at improving the prospects for people in the state. He will also take viewer questions and talk with Brian Lyman from the “Press-Register,” Steve Chiotakes from WBHM-FM Birmingham and Julius White from WVAS-FM Montgomery.

A majority of the poor people in Alabama are Black females and a majority of the wealthiest people in Alabama are white males. Is it not a contradiction that white males consistently serve as the lead spokepersons on poverty in our state?
