James "J" Whitson Documentary Production Coordinator James “J” Whitson received a BA in political science with a minor in philosophy/religion from the University of Montevallo in 2000 with a concentration in theory. After college he dabbled in various careers, including free-lance political editorial writing. In 2004, J. was hired by APT as the first production coordinator of the newly-formed documentary unit. J’s writing and educational background serve him well in this capacity. In his spare time, he writes unpublished masterworks.
Matt Whitson Documentary Editor Matt Whitson pursued music studies at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. He began recording bands in his home studio, and was eventually hired by local audio production companies to record and edit sound for film and video . Matt’s innate sense of timing through his music studies and knowledge of non-linear sound editing made him a natural for video editing. In 2004 APT hired him. He is now adept on both the Final Cut Pro and the Sony XPRI high-definition editing systems.
