Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

When will the studies begin, and how long will they last?
The first online courses associated with the research studies are set to begin in April 2007. Three sets of studies will take place: one each semester for three consecutive school terms. The studies are expected to conclude in summer 2008.

Who is eligible to participate? How can I learn more?
The research team is seeking elementary and middle school language arts and math teachers for this study. Teachers in “high needs” schools are strongly encouraged to participate however teaching in a “high needs” school is not a requirement. Six hundred forty teachers are needed across the eight state project, and a three-semester commitment is required. Stipends are available to teachers who complete the research project requirements. Graduate level course credit is also available.

If you teach in Alabama, and you would like more information about participating in the research, please contact Tom Dreilinger, Alabama e-Learning for Educators Project Director, via email at elearning@alsde.edu or by telephone at (334) 670-1884.
