International Day of Peace -- September 21
 
Preview and livestream of the Peace Day Global Broadcast 2014, and links to broadcasts from past years.
 
 
Peace Day Activities for Kids:
·         Small children can draw pictures of themselves, saying what makes them feel peaceful
·         Small children: talk about how to act peacefully towards each other
·         Small children: do a puppet show about peace
·         Include Conflict Resolution in the curriculum for the day or week around September 21
·         Ask students to express “What is Peace?” by drawing or writing, followed by a discussion
·         Submit your artwork to the annual Peace Pals International Arts Exhibition and Awards (ages 5-16)
·         Do a role play on peace
·         Write peace statements on pieces of paper and turn them into objects of art
·         Create peace posters
·         Make origami peace doves, write notes about peace on them and display
·         Create a giant Peace Dove and display in a public space
·         Build a peace wall with statements/art about peace
·         Make Pinwheels for Peace
·         Plant a rock for peace
 
Peace Day Activities for All Ages:
·         As a group, create a human formation of a peace dove and take a picture for display
·         Light a candle or lantern for peace
·         Do a silent meditation for peace at noon
·         Ring a peace bell
·         Release peace balloons
·         Make origami peace doves, write notes about peace on them, and display
·         Plant a Peace Pole
