The Peace Day Broadcast will provide live celebrations on multiple Internet channels as they unfold around the planet. This multimedia event involving millions of people in countries around the world participating in parades, concerts, dance celebrations, exhibitions and educational events in celebration of the United Nations International Day of Peace.
 
The full Peace Day Global Broadcast begins September 17 with the ringing of the Peace Bell from UN Headquarters by the Secretary General, and continues through September 21, the official International Day of Peace.
 
Examples of Peace Day Activities for Kids (copied from the International Day of Peace website)
·         Small children can draw pictures of themselves, saying what makes them feel peaceful
·         Small children: talk about how to act peacefully towards each other
·         Small children: do a puppet show about peace
·         Include Conflict Resolution in the curriculum for the day or week around September 21
·         Ask students to express “What is Peace?” by drawing or writing, followed by a discussion
·         Drawing Competition on the theme of peace or Peace Day
·         Submit your artwork to the annual Peace Pals International Arts Exhibition and Awards (age 5-19 years) (www.wppspeacepals.org)
·         Do a role play on peace
·         Write peace statements on pieces of paper and turn them into objects of art
·         Create peace posters
·         Make origami peace doves, write notes about peace on them and display

·         Build a peace wall with statements/art about peace
