The Art of the Theater
Recommended for Seventh Grade to Twelfth Grade "The Art of the Theatre” showcases the Alabama Shakespeare Festival’s design and production of one of Shakespeare’s rarely performed historical trilogies. The Elizabethan style production uses both 21st-century tech¬nology and centuries old theatrical tricks of the trade. The Wars of the Roses trilogy is an adapta¬tion of four Shakespearian plays ("Henry VI, Parts A, B and C" and "Rich¬ard III") and is set during England's civil war between the House of Lancaster un¬der the banner of the red rose and the House of Yorke under the banner of the white rose. This set of videos provides a close look at the design and production of live theatre. The 5 videos include an introduction/overview of the production, along with footage of the set design, the properties (props), the costumes, the lights, the sound, and the music. |
